Ug... Time sure can be rough on a boy from the Stone Age. When told he must "go school" by his Mamug and Papug, Ug impishly decides hed rather not, and starts his own school with a few animal pals instead - which quickly descends into a prehistoric ruckus, I might add.
But after his new friends leave him, Ug soon learns that the rock is not always smoother on the other side. Alone and lost in a vast wilderness, Ug must now swallow his pride and somehow find a way back to the ones he loves most.
Gorgeously illustrated by hand and written in a charming cave-speak prose, Ug is the product of brother-sister duo Kate and Patrick Buss, co-founders of Ice Cream Fine Storybooks. Kate provided the lush illustrations while Patrick wrote the story and programmed the app entirely by himself, ensuring that every interaction, sound, and animation is story-driven, designed to inspire and not to distract.
Pages are turned by a swipe across the screen and are elegantly animated in an iBooks fashion. Also included are a caveman-themed finger painting game, a table of contents accessible from any page in the story, and the customary reading modes (with narration, without narration, or auto-play)
